Bahrain International Airport on path to Carbon Neutrality

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA) recently achieved the Airport Carbon Accreditation ‘Level 1 Mapping’ from the Airports Council International (ACI), a significant milestone in BAC’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and operate BIA as an environmentally- friendly facility on par with its global counterparts.

Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications Awards Second Enabling Works Contract for New Passenger Terminal Building

His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed announced the awarding of the second Enabling Works Package for the new BIA Passenger Terminal Building, worth BD10 million, to local contractors G.P. Zachariades Engineering and Construction Company. The enabling works schedule follows on from the signing of the first Enabling Works Package last February.

BAC Prepares to Host Inaugural Routes MEA Forum

Preparations are in full swing as Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), is gearing up to host the first edition of Routes Middle East and Africa 2015 (Routes MEA 2015) in the Kingdom of Bahrain this month. The inaugural Routes Middle East and Africa will be held at the Gulf International Convention Centre from the 31st of May to the 2nd of June 2015 and is expected to draw in hundreds of delegates from across the Middle East and African’ aviation industry looking to benefit from valuable information exchange, networking opportunities and prospective partnerships.
